During the first hour of New Year Kcell and Activ subscribers made over 8,5 million of calls and sent almost 3 million of SMS

The largest mobile operator GSM Kazakhstan/Kcell ensured failure-free connection for its subscribers on December 31 and New Year night, as the result Kcell and Activ subscribers could send their congratulations to relatives and friends during the first minutes of New Year.
The Company undertook necessary steps in advance in order to increase throughput capacity of the network. “60 company employees were on duty during the New Year night in order to ensure quick problem solving, - said Faik Citlak, Kcell Information and Communication Technologies Department Director. – We did not experience ant serious problems or network overload”.
As a result of undertaken measures Kcell and Activ subscribers could use the mobile communication services failure-free. The percent of successful call termination on December 31 was 99%, and during the New Year night - 97 percent, whereas during first hours of New Year over 23 million calls were made by subscribers and over 11,4 million SMS were received and 6,8 million SMS were sent, which were usually delivered within 5 seconds. In general the number of calls made on December 31 and January 1 was increased by 40% in comparison with regular day and exceeded 90 million of calls, and the number of SMS sent by subscribers increased by 2 times.
