GSM Kazakhstan/Kñell Presents Trend Report – Research of Telecoms Market in Kazakhstan

Mobile phone will serve as a credit card, door key, remote control for home appliances, alarm system. Telecommunications make life easier and help escape sense of loneliness. Producers of goods and services should focus on communications with consumers via the newest communication facilities. These are only a few of conclusions resulted from the research "Kcell Trend Report 2010". Today GSM Kazakhstan/Kcell, cellular operator in Kazakhstan, made its presentation in Almaty.

This unique research presents a comprehensive analysis of experience and expectations of cellular consumers, development trends of telecommunication services and tendencies in the market of Kazakhstan. TeliaSonera Group (owns 51% interest in GSM Kazakhstan/Kcell) have been conducting market trend researches since 2006, publishing the results in the yearly Trend Reports. Now Kazakhstan has joined this project. The research was conducted by the United Minds organization, among individuals and legal entities, within the period from September to December 2009, in Kazakhstan, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Lithuania. 1050 individuals and employees of 502 organizations participated the Internet-based polling in Kazakhstan.
Modern communication methods make the life of Kazakhstanis easier, - this is the opinion verbalized by 98% of respondents, of which 91.2% state that telecommunication facilities make it possible to avoid the sense of loneliness. 78% of respondents use mobile phone daily, while fixed line telephony is used by 66.2% every day. Among other things, the polling results show that 64.3% of Internet users in Kazakhstan get access to the Internet via their mobile telephones, and 31.3% of them do it several times a week, 11% - do it every day. "Technological development is a continuous process, and there is no doubt that in the future telecommunication functions will expand. Significant contribution to such expansion in Kazakhstan will be made after launch of 3G technology, and later – LTE", - says Mr. Veysel Aral, Chief Executive Officer of GSM Kazakhstan/Kcell.
It is also stated in the report that when constant accessibility is a usual practice, it becomes not only the way for people to keep in touch, but tells others much about you as well. "Not a single bag, tie or a logotype can ever characterize you as much as your ability to adapt to the society, where one’s constant accessibility is a norm", - says Mr. Stefan Trampus, Head of Broadband Services in Swedish TeliaSonera.
